- July 14, 2022 marks the 110th anniversary of the father of American folk music, Woody Guthrie. I devoted two episodes of Notes by Northwest to him and and his music. Here are some related links I mentioned on the programs:

April 23 Interview with Peter McKee
- This is a gem--two Seattle musicians, Peter McKee and Pat McIntyre trekked nearly 1000 miles from Seattle to the Columbia River to sing Roll On Columbia at the confluence of the six rivers which Woody mentions in his song in honor of Woody Guthrie's 100th birthday in 2012. Each episode of Notes by NW begins with a version of Roll On, Columbia, which Guthrie wrote as part of the Columbia River series in 1942. And if you didn’t know, its also the official Washington State folk song. Click here to watch the video
